FRUITLAND - Hubert "Junior" Woods, 77, died Aug. 21, 2012, at his home in Fruitland.
Born Dec. 14, 1934, to the late Royce and Pauline Ward Woods at East Prairie, he was a member of Cape County Cowboy Church and formerly a member of First Baptist Church, in East Prairie. He was employed with the Department of Social Services for 23 years in Mississippi, Reynolds, New Madrid and Scott counties.
On May 11, 1957, he married Patty Jackson, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: one daughter, Cynthia Hess of Fruitland; one son and daughter-in-law, Hubert "Buddy" and Nancy Woods of St. Charles; three sisters, Laverne Davis of Chesterfield, Ind., Catherine Bilyeu of Shenandoah, Texas, and Betty Banks of East Prairie; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, LaDonna Woods, and one sister, Doris McGuire.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Dogwood Cemetery with George White officiating.
