The Bootheel BassBusters held their sixth tournament of the year, a night and dawn tournament, on July 28 and 29 on Kentucky Lake out of the Fenton ramp. Mike Estes won the tournament with a total weight of 24 lbs. 7 oz. and also caught the tournament Big Bass of 5 lbs. 5 oz. Mitch Allen was second with 17 lbs. 11 oz. and Greg Gooch was third with 15 lbs. 5 oz...

The Bootheel BassBusters held their sixth tournament of the year, a night and dawn tournament, on July 28 and 29 on Kentucky Lake out of the Fenton ramp.

Mike Estes won the tournament with a total weight of 24 lbs. 7 oz. and also caught the tournament Big Bass of 5 lbs. 5 oz. Mitch Allen was second with 17 lbs. 11 oz. and Greg Gooch was third with 15 lbs. 5 oz.

The club voted to fish tournament hours from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m each day to enjoy the coolest part of the day.

The top finishers reported catching their fish on jigs, Texas-rigged worms, and spinnerbaits fished in a variety of depths.

Mike Estes leads in the Angler-of-the-Year race with 1,693 points. Greg Gooch is second with 1,546 points and John Wilson is third with 1,384 points.

The club travels to Lake Barkley for the seventh tournament of the year, a dawn and dawn tournament, on August 18th and 19th out of the Devil's Elbow ramp.

Camaraderie and competition are the hallmarks of the BassBusters and new members are always welcome. Annual dues are $25 and owning a boat is not required for membership.
