CHARLESTON -- Lavanna Jean Jones Gaskins, 66, died Sept. 28, 2012, at her home.
Born Dec. 17, 1945, at Hayti, to the late Albert Lewis and Laura Sparks Jones, she had lived in Charleston a number of years and had attended the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston.
She was married to John Gaskins who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by: one son, David Gaskins; two brothers, Albert Lee Jones and Bruce Jones; and one sister, Elizabeth Butler.
Survivors include: two sons, James Bruenderman of Farmington and Elvis Gaskins of Charleston; one brother, Bob Prosise of Kankakee, Ill.; two sisters, Lisa Hall of Benton and Bea Blasingain of Scott City; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston with the Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor, officiating.
McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
