WAPPAPELLO -- Jerry Dee Tankersley, 73, died Oct. 5, 2012, at Puxico Nursing and Rehab.
Born Dec. 2, 1938, in Medford, Ore., to the late L.E. and Charity Schreiner Tankersley, he was a member of the Lake Wappapello United Methodist Church. He worked as a quality control engineer for nuclear construction projects and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Wappapello Lions Club and a charter member of the Elks Tri Cities Lodge No. 2755 in Richland, Wash.
On Aug. 8, 1988, in Bakersfield, Calif., he married Dorothy P. McCollough who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one daughter, Wendy D. Tankersley of Moses Lake, Wash.; one son, Kenneth Tanner Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Larry Lee Tankersley of Soldotna, Alaska; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Tankersley, in addition to his parents.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
