Dorothy Caskey

COLUMBIA -- Dorothy Mahan Caskey, 91, of Columbia passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Lenoir Healthcare Center.

Born Jan. 8, 1921, to James and Catherine Mahan in McKinney, Texas, she married Wendell H. Caskey March 7, 1944, in Pensacola, Fla. They were married for 65 years before his death in 2009.

She worked outside the home over the years but was primarily a devoted wife and loving mother to the five children who survive her: Lynette Caskey, and Cathy Barnes (Tracey Conrad) both of Columbia and Jim (Libby) Caskey of Sikeston, Andy (Linda) Caskey of Hallsville and Wendy (Jim) Busk of Homosassa, Fla. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be private.

The family would like to thank Lenoir Healthcare Center and Hospice Compassus for their excellent care of their sweet, gentle mother.
