SIKESTON -- The Sikeston junior varsity wrestling team won 13 medals during their annual junior varsity wrestling tournament Saturday at the Sikeston Field House.

Out of 16 wrestlers, Sikeston had all but three win either first or second place.

Along with Sikeston, four other schools -- Cape Central, Dexter, Poplar Bluff and New Madrid County Central -- were there competing as well.

"I think the boys wrestled really well in our tournament and showed some very promising signs," Sikeston wrestling coach Chris Lowe said. "Our goal is to improve each week and continue to build our program. We have battled through some sickness in the last week and I'm very proud of the kids that step up and help out our program."
