OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Nedra V. Foster, 81, died, Dec. 16, 2012, after a long illness.
Born Oct. 17, 1931, in Sikeston, Mo., daughter of the late Squire Spence and Ruth Ann Vaughn, she graduated from Morehouse, Mo., High School. She attended business school in St. Louis and later worked for the superintendent of the Sikeston School District. She lived in St. Louis and Lima, Ohio. After 11 years in Lima and a brief time residing in Blytheville, Ark., she and her family moved to Tulsa, Okla. In 2007, she moved to Overland Park. She had also owned and operated a Hallmark Cards store.
On April 20, 1957, she married James Foster, who preceded her in death in 2007.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Diane Foster of Mission and Lowell and Reida Foster of Olathe; one sister, Mary Ruth Ferraro of Prairie Village; one brother, Dwight Vaughn of Sikeston; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
