BELL CITY -- Georgia Lee Hankins, 95, died Jan. 17, 2013, at her home.
Born Sept. 6, 1917, in Sweatman, Miss., daughter of the late Aaron and Francis Johnson Ratliff, she was employed at the Bell City Public Schools until her retirement and was a member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City where she served on the Mother's Board.
On Jan. 15, 1936, she married Manuel Hankins who preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1976.
Survivors include: six sons and daughters-in-law, Louis and Vickie Hankins of Dale City, Calif., Guy and Sandy Hankins of Spokane, Wash., Taylor and Addie Hankins of San Diego, Stan and Debbie Hankins of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jerry and Darlene Hankins of Wayne, Mich., and Donald and Katie Hankins of Denver; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Marva and Gary Watkins of Oak Park, Mich., Mavis L. Carpenter of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Vivian and Brian David of Detroit and Kimberly and Walter Bartlett of Covington, La.; one sister, Lucille Ratliff of Grenada, Miss.; and 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until service time at noon Tuesday at the New Morning Star MB Church in Haywood City with the Rev. Alex Sims, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the J.C. Pullen Memorial Garden Cemetery near Bell City.
The Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
