LAS VEGAS -- Frances Ellen Caldwell Baker, 90, died Dec. 29, 2012, at Nathan Adelson Hospice. Born Dec. 21, 1922, in East Prairie, Mo., to the late John George Caldwell and Norine Hauptman Caldwell Wilson, she lived in East Prairie until 2003 when she moved to her daughter's home in Las Vegas. LAS VEGAS -- Frances Ellen Caldwell Baker, 90, died Dec. 29, 2012, at Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Born Dec. 21, 1922, in East Prairie, Mo., to the late John George Caldwell and Norine Hauptman Caldwell Wilson, she lived in East Prairie until 2003 when she moved to her daughter's home in Las Vegas. She and her husband worked as interior and exterior painters and she was an active member of St. James Baptist Church.

On Oct. 12, 1940, she married Harold Norman Baker, who preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1994.

Also preceding her death were one son, Bruce Norman Baker who died Nov. 21, 2005; and a grandson, Brian Lowell Johnson, who died Dec. 21, 2009.

Survivors include: one daughter, Betty Lou Baker Johnson of Las Vegas; four grandchildren: Theresa Lynn Johnson of Las Vegas, Daniel Bruce Baker of Millersville, Md., Jason Baker of Virginia Beach, Va., and Ethan Adam Baker of Charlotte, N.C.; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dogwood Cemetery in East Prairie.

Following the service there will be a fellowship at St James Baptist Church.

Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of local arrangements.
