ORAN -- Paul Jerome Simmons, 78, died Feb. 10, 2013. ORAN -- Paul Jerome Simmons, 78, died Feb. 10, 2013.

Born Dec. 2, 1934, in St. Louis, son of the late James Simmons and Minnie Ditterline Simmons Stehr, he was a finish carpenter, working for Starzinger Cabinetry in Pocohantas. He was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

On May 14, 1960, he married Hermine Hodl, and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Twanna Simmons of Fredericktown and John and Shirley Simmons of Jackson; one daughter, Dr. Connie Simmons of Kirkwood; one sister, Virginia Dennis of Chaffee; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He also preceded in death by a brother, James Simmons; and a sister, Marcella Eldridge.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. today with rosary prayers at 6 p.m. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
