JEFFERSON CITY -- Mrs. Kathleen L. "Katy" Duckett, age 83 years, of Jefferson City died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center.
Kathleen was born Aug. 7, 1929, in Brandsville, the daughter of Gerald R. and Velda H. Driskill Gregory.
She was married on June 28, 1947 in Williamsville, to John M. Duckett.
A resident of the Jefferson City area for the past 44 years, Kathleen graduated from Willliamsville High School.
She was employed as an administrative assistant with Capital City Water Company from 1968 until her retirement in 1991.
Kathleen was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed crafts, painting, knitting, ceramics, dancing and working in the yard. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include: her husband of 65 years, John M. Duckett; one daughter, Pat Jones and her husband Dan of Sikeston; one son, Greg Duckett and his wife Katie of Holts Summit; two grandsons, Dale Mock and Matt Duckett and his wife Melissa; and two great-grandchildren, Steven Mock and Claire Duckett.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, John Mock.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Freeman Mortuary in Jefferson City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, in the Freeman Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Hilty officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Shriners Children's Hospital in St. Louis.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary in Jefferson City.
