SIKESTON -- The Kenny Rogers Children's Center is once again searching for the area's best singers to perform in its upcoming 33rd annual telethon.
Auditions for the eighth annual Telethon Idol will take place Saturday at West Park Mall in Cape Girardeau at the JC Penney wing.
"We're excited. We've had phone calls of interest about the competition, and, hopefully, we'll have a good turnout," said Christy O'Neal, marketing and development for the Kenny Rogers Children's Center in Sikeston.
Over the years, the singing competition/fundraiser has alternated locations in Sikeston and Cape Girardeau, O'Neal said, adding however, the last couple years, it's been at the mall in Cape.
The competition will take on the same format as in past years, O'Neal said. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and is $10 per person. All proceeds benefit the Kenny Rogers Children's Center telethon.
