Ruby Yanson

SIKESTON -- Ruby E. Yanson, 94, died Feb. 26, 2013, at her home in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 4, 1918, in Dudley, to the late Robert Joel and Clersey Ann Garner Edwards, she and her husband owned and operated Yanson's Jewelry Store in Sikeston for many years before retiring.

On Feb. 13, 1955, she married Charles H. Yanson, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1994.

She was also preceded in death by: five sisters, Ila Smallen, Ida Malone, Ruth Ilene Gierse, Mary Jolene Felker and Beulah Daniels; and five brothers, William Edwards, Chester Edwards, and three infant brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Carrie A. Yanson of Sikeston.

Visitation is from noon until time of services at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Mary McCord, a retired minister, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Sikeston City Cemetery.
