DEXTER -- Betty Henderson Joyner, 84, died Feb. 25, 2013, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 6, 1928, in Flint, Mich., to the late George Allen and Ruth Brown Carwile, she had lived in Dexter most of her life. She had attended the First General Baptist Church and worked as a licensed practical nurse for Dr. Robert Jibben Sr. several years ago.

She was previously married to Colin John Brady of Florida and William Kenneth Link of Aquilla. On Sept. 24, 1954, she married Marteen William "Fat" Henderson, who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1974. On March 7, 1975, she married Nathan Hubert "Doc" Corbin, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1994.

In October 1997, in Piggott, Ark., she married Thomas W. Joyner, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Cheryl Brody "Sherry" Zimmerman of Dexter; one son, Bill Link of Dexter; one stepson, Bud Joyner of Poplar Bluff; one stepdaughter, Linda Morgan of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Lawrence Carwile of Dexter; one sister, Bonnie Hester of San Antonio; and four grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five great-stepgrandchildren; two great-great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Donnie Price.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
