Elderly Sikeston man dies in fire caused by cigar

SIKESTON -- An elderly Sikeston man died Tuesday after he caught himself on fire while smoking a cigar in his home.

Officers with Sikeston Public Safety responded Tuesday to the 700 block of North Kingshighway in reference to a fire. The caller said her 97-year-old father, John Yount, had caught himself on fire while smoking a cigar.
