CHARLESTON -- Mississippi County is on board with the Regional Disaster Plan.
During their regular meeting Thursday, the County Commission joined area counties which have indicated they will participate in the RDP following a presentation by Mark Winkler, coordinator for the State Emergency Management Agency's Area E.
Missouri officials are moving toward a regional strategy for disaster response as pooling assets can result in a better response, according to Winkler.
And in this area, "we have a lot of regional assets that we have acquired," he said.
