DEXTER -- R.W. "Dub" Conner, 89, died March 9, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Dexter.
Born April 15, 1923, in Louisville, Ky., to the late Eugene Wilson and Buena Oceola Conner, he had lived in Essex and Dexter all his life. He had worked for the railroad, had been a police officer in Kentucky and had operated his own saw sharpening business. He attended the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the D.A.V.
In September 1984, in Essex, he married Ruth Marie Vickery who preceded him in death June 19, 2009.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Terry Patterson, and four brothers and one sister.
Surviving are: two daughters, Sandra Williamson and Linda Morgan of Dexter; and one brother, one sister and six grandchildren.
Services were conducted today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Burial followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
