GREENFIELD, Ind. -- Gloretta V. Magee, 75, died March 18, 2013, at Hancock Regional Hospital.
Born Aug. 25, 1937, in Powe, Mo., daughter of the late George W. and Erma Woods Davis, she worked for Western Electric in Indianapolis and was a member of the Western Electric Pioneers. She was also a member of the Greenfield Lions Club, the Red Hat Ladies and was co-founder and a member of Reach Out to the Handicapped. She was also involved in the Special Olympics and Shares, Inc., and she served on the board of directors for Hospice in 1998.
On May 20, 1954, she married Alford L. Magee who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2003.
Also preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were four brothers, Marion Davis, Walter Davis, Eugene Davis and Joe Davis, and two sisters, Wanda Brunner and Christine Davis.
Surviving are: one son, Larry Magee of Greenfield; two daughters, Gloria Griffith and Louise Hatfield of Greenfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Dale Wilson of Greenfield; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Donald and Marie Davis of Puxico, Mo., Jeff and Bobbi Davis of Desoto, Mo., Luther Davis of Bellview, Mo., Charles and Joyce Davis of Clarksville, Ark., and Estel and Dora Davis of Greenfield; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today at the Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.
Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. until time for services at 1 p.m. Friday at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Mo. The Rev. Cart Wilson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie, Mo.
