RISCO -- This past week the Tri-County Conference announced it's varsity all-conference teams with several Risco players making the cut.
Junior Jordon Pavy was the lone Tiger to be selected first-team all-conference while senior Austin White received second-team honors. Among those receiving honorable mentions were Risco senior Caleb McCord and junior Brandon Bixler.
Also announced was the 2012-13 Class 1, District 1 All-District team with Pavy, McCord, Bixler and White all making the cut. Risco head coach Brandon Blankenship was selected as the district's Coach of the Year.
HARRISBURG, Ill. -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs soccer team picked up their first win in their first game of the season Wednesday in Harrisburg, Ill., 2-0.
Madison Chaney scored both goals for Sikeston in the win.
"It's good to get that first game and first win under our belt," Sikeston soccer coach Doyle Noe said. "It was cool and windy conditions and we could have played a little bit better, but early in the season it's good to get out there and get some experience. It was a good effort all around for us tonight."
Chaney's first goal came at the 25th minute mark with the assist from Monica Carter.
In the second half, Chaney scored again at the 60th minute with an assist from Kameron Wilcox.
Sikeston goalie Annie Ramey picked up the shutout with six saves.
Sikeston starts the Noon Optimist Tournament in Cape Girardeau tonight at 5 p.m. when they play St. Vincent at Cape Central High School.
