After a portion of a cemetery, located at the intersection of Matthews and Woods lanes in Miner, began to crumble into the roadway, Miner city employees began an effort to stabilize the ground. According to Miner Mayor Frank Tatum, as time allowed, city employees reseeded the slope. On Friday afternoon, Marvin Hatton, maintenance supervisor, left, and Chris Smith, maintenance employee, worked to stake protective covering in place. Tatum said when workers aren't busy with other projects, they plan to return to the cemetery to continue improvements including resetting headstones which have toppled. (Jill Bock, Staff)
