MINER -- City officials from Miner and Sikeston will meet next week to discuss items from fire protection to animal control.
"We want to cooperate with Miner any way we can," Sikeston Mayor Jerry Pullen said to the Miner Board of Aldermen during the Board's regular monthly meeting Tuesday.
Pullen clarified that isn't a promise that an agreement will be reached.
"If it can't be done, it can't be done," he said, "but I'm willing to talk about it."
Pullen also said he would also be willing to discuss what can be worked out so the Sikeston Area Humane Society will accept strays caught by Miner officials.
Miner residents have complaints about both stray dogs and stray cats.
Terry Cole, alderman, said building a kennel to hold animals that complies with requirements would cost the city about $50,000.
