CHARLESTON -- When it comes to Mississippi County's nuisance ordinance, the same procedures apply to dogs as they do to yards: get a picture.

Ken Stevenson, county code enforcement officer, reported during the regular County Commission meeting Thursday on his efforts to follow up on a complaint of a vicious dog that lives on Highway D southeast of East Prairie.

Stevenson said he just "looked from the highway" but believes he saw a white and brown pit bull poking its head out of a doghouse.

Sheriff Keith Moore said his recollection from his department's investigation into the report of a vicious dog is that the "problem dog" is white and black, not white and brown.
