SIKESTON -- Bids for paper and office supplies were awarded during the Sikeston R-6 Board of Education's regular monthly meeting Tuesday at Central Office.
Contract Paper Group was awarded the bid for 2,179 cases of various types of copy paper and card stock for $52,198.20. The Board then approved awarding $641.95 to Standard Stationery Co. for 690 cases of 15 varying colors of construction paper.
The first of four office supply bids was for $823.36 to Office Depot for 17 various items. Eight items totaling $564.27 were awarded to School Speciality. Standard Stationery Co. received the bid for 25 items totaling $3,950.62. United Imaging was awarded the bid for eight items in the amount of $1,154.40.
"This bid was put out as an individual line item. It was not a one-bidder-gets-all type bid, and that that saves us about $37,000-$38,000 a year -- minimum, and that's why we ask you to approve so many different things," said R-6 Director of Business Services Lori Boardman about the office supplies bid.
