App will tell user who is wanted and in custody

NEW MADRID -- When it comes to finding out who is wanted by the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department or who is already in custody, well, there's an app for that.

The New Madrid County Sheriff's Departments has joined other law enforcement agencies in offering a free SmartPhone app or application, which is a program available for download to a cell phone.

Sheriff Terry Stevens said he was pleased when he learned his office would be able to provide the app. He especially liked that the service is provided at no charge to his department and to users.
