PADUCAH, KY. - Heat Index Values may once again pose danger to Southeast Missouri residents.
According to the National Weather Service at Paducah, the Heat Index Values could top out in the 100 to 105 degree range across the area from midday through late afternoon. Some relief is possible given there is a chance of thunderstorms.
Those more susceptible to heat-related stress and illness should take the necessary precautions, in particular from 1-7 p.m.
"If you can, stay indoors in an air-conditioned location or a community cooling shelters," the NWS suggested. "If you must work outdoors, take frequent breaks, drink plenty of water and wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing."
