YMCA of Southeast Missouri promoting healthy eating, exercise

SIKESTON -- As the number of overweight and obese children continues to rise, the YMCA of Southeast Missouri hopes to counter that by teaching children to eat healthy and exercise, while having fun.

According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention, one third of children and adolescents are overweight and childhood obesity has more than doubled in the past 30 years. But healthy lifestyle habits, including healthy eating and physical activity, can lower the risk of becoming overweight and obese.
