MALDEN -- Malden's Dremond Robinson ran for 247 yards and five touchdowns Thursday as the Green Wave torched the East Prairie Eagles 58-14 during the first round of the Class 2, District 1 tournament.
Malden, the district's second seed, scored on their first seven possessions and totaled 355 yards. East Prairie was limited to 186 total yards as the seventh seed.
The Eagles were led by quarterback Blayn Goodding's 80 yards on 10 rushing attempts. Goodding also scored East Prairie's first touchdown of the game in the third quarter on a 56-yard run. Adrian Soto ran for 76 yards.
East Prairie finishes the year with a 1-9 record. After losing their previous 18 games spanning from the 2011 season, the Eagles broke that losing streak in Week 2 with a resounding 43-8 victory.
