Council members voted to adopt the 2012 International Building and Fire Code as recommended by staff at the Oct. 7 Council meeting.

During the regular monthly City Council meeting Monday, bills adopting the 2012 International Building Code, One and Two Family Residential Code, Fire Code, Fuel Gas Code, Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code, Swimming Pool Code, Existing Building Code, Property Maintenance Code and Electric Code were all approved by the Council after being read for the second time.

International codes are designed as a model to provide consistency from city to city, according to Collin Cecil, a code enforcement officer for the city.
