Real turkey of a talk for Thanksgiving
Wednesday, November 27, 2013
In a somewhat bizarre effort to promote the troubled Affordable Care Act, the Obama administration has a handy and helpful video with suggestions on how to start a health care conversation during the Thanksgiving dinner.
I could not make this up, believe me.
With a step-by-step guide, the geniuses behind Obamacare are hoping that the Thanksgiving dinner gathering will offer a unique opportunity to have some friendly family chatter about health insurance.
When I first heard of this muddled idea, I honestly thought it was a skit from Saturday Night Live.
But no! There is actually a video with suggested questions to ask of those without health insurance.
Okay, so this is laughable on so many different levels it's hard to know exactly where to start.
So let's start with an easy one.
Do these bureaucrat have any connection to the real world? Someone has to ask.
Who in their right mind would imagine that the wonderful family setting of Thanksgiving would be just the right moment to discuss Obamacare?
These people must live in a parallel universe and I am saddened at their lack of touch with reality.
What's next? A Christmas wish list that includes an Obamacare brochure and starter kit for the kids?
Were it not so pathetic, this would indeed be hilarious. But unfortunately, there are bureaucrats in high positions who actually believe this idea is a great starting point for a discussion on Obamacare.
Perhaps these bureaucrats should rethink their position because up to now, the Obamacare discussion is not something they would probably want to hear.
Oh well, forget football and Black Friday and turkey, etc., big brother has a dinner table topic they feel is important.
Chances are, they may regret the suggestion.
