PREP ROUNDUP: Jays advance to semifinals at 30th Superman Classic
METROPOLIS, Ill. -- Delfincko Bogan scored 29 points and the Charleston Bluejays defeated Calloway County, Ky., 64-54 Monday during the first round of the Superman Classic at Massac County High School in Metropolis, Ill.
Bogan scored 13 of his game-high in the fourth quarter to hold of Calloway, who was down by just three entering the final frame.
Shandor Webster added 10 points and Kelvondre Moore chipped in eight for Charleston, who are the two-time tournament champions.
The Bluejays (13-4) will play Carbondale, Ill., Thursday at 7:45 p.m. in the semifinal round.

DELTA -- Fourth-seeded East Prairie advanced to the semifinals of the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament by beating No. 5 Scott City 72-50 in the quarterfinals Monday at Delta High School.
East Prairie (6-5) built a 20-7 lead in the first quarter and led 31-19 at halftime. The Eagles took a 47-39 lead into the fourth quarter.
Seth Bays scored 26 points for the Eagles while teammate Damion Tipler finished with 14. Trent Pobst led Scott City with 11 points. Isiah Berry added 10.
East Prairie will take on top-seeded Scott County Central Thursday at 7 p.m.

SIKESTON -- The Scott County Central Bravettes led by 25 points after one quarter and went on to rout the visiting Caruthersville Lady Tigers 73-12.
Mikaela Blissett led the Bravettes with 30 points. Derien Ditto added 12 while LaQuisha Strickland and Johniqua Fort each scored 10. Blissett totaled 13 rebounds, four steals, two blocks and two steals. Strickland had 10 steals and five rebounds while Fort chipped in seven rebounds, six steals and four assists.
Scott Central led 55-9 at the half.
