Y'all come check us out

If you're searching for a progressive "come as you are" church here in Sikeston, give Cape First of Sikeston a visit. I was discouraged and frustrated with my search for the right church for myself and my family. However, one day I was shopping at a local discount store that I frequent a lot, and the clerk invited me to attend her church. I had the mentality, 'what do I have to lose?' That was over a year ago and I'm still attending. I finally found my church. I felt a sense of relief and came away reinvigorated and renewed after the one and a half hour service. This diverse, non-judgmental and warm church saved my life. Maybe you can find "your church" as well. See you there.

Be glad you have a job

Hey bonus complainer, you were talking about your employer giving out bonuses at the end of the year. Your employer is not responsible for you budgeting your own finances. Not every place gives out bonuses, so be grateful if you get one at all. Or just be thankful that you have a job. I'm sure someone would take it from you even if they didn't get a bonus.

High and drive

This in response to Pat Buchanan's article, "Is America going to pot?" He really should've smoked a joint before he wrote this article because smoking a joint and drinking and driving are way different things. You are very careful when you smoke pot, you're not when you drink alcohol.

God bless the policemen

I sure think we need to realize what good police service we have in New Madrid and Sikeston. It sure makes our neighborhoods better to live in. God bless all of you.

It's the honest truth

I'd like to know why honest people get hurt so bad? It seems like every time you try to get ahead in life, people want to try and get you down. I just wanted to voice my opinion and say the honest man seems to always get hurt. When someone talks to me about things, I try to be honest with them. When you try to get help in America, no one wants to help the poor man.
