NEW MADRID -- The New Madrid County Central Eagles rode a hot first half to a 60-55 win over South Pemiscot on Tuesday.
NMCC outpaced South Pemiscot 19-15 in the first quarter before going ahead 32-22 at halftime. South Pemiscot rallied in the third quarter, 18-13, but couldn't complete the comeback.
Willie Jimerson had a game-high 17 points for the Eagles and Asten Newsom added 16 points to the cause.
The New Madrid County Central junior varsity also pulled out a victory against South Pemiscot 59-34.
Javarcus Word led NMCC with 18 points.

Porter was 13 of 21 from the field with nine rebounds, five assists. Banks had 15 points to along with nine rebounds, five steals and three assists.
Javonta Daniel pitched in 13 points and the Braves shot 34 of 60 as a team.

Risco (8-8, 3-1) trailed by a point after the first quarter, but outscored Gideon 27-17 in the final eight minutes of the first half. They added another 10 points to their lead in the third quarter and held on for the win.
Jordon Pavy led the Tigers with 33 points with Brandon Bixler and Josh Earnheart finishing with 21 and 10 points respectively.

HILLSBORO -- The Sikeston wrestling team won two of three duals in their quad at Hillsboro on Tuesday against North County, Hillsboro and Festus on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs took down Hillsboro and North County 54-24 and 54-12respectively while falling to Festus 50-29.
"We wrestled in quad at Hillsboro tonight and went 2-1 with a very heavy JV lineup," Sikeston head coach Chris Lowe said. "Clay Porter returned from injury for first time since tiger classic. Porter, Ty Fowler and E Martinez all went 3-0 tonight."
The Bulldogs wrestle in Dexter on Thursday night.
