SIKESTON -- Cleaning out Greenbrier Ditch is just another part of a bigger effort to keep Sikeston dry, according to city officials
City Council members authorized during their regular monthly briefing session Monday paying for engineering specifications and starting the bid process for a cleanout of Greenbrier Ditch.
"The project will involve the removal of trees and blockages from the existing ditch, starting at the railroad going west, to improve the drainage from the Greenbrier Subdivisions from Route 61 and further properties to the north and east," said Brian Dial, street superintendent.
