MALDEN -- Defensively the Bluejays were top-notch as they cruised to their sixth-straight district championship game Tuesday at Malden High School following a 76-52 win over Malden.

Charleston (20-6) contained Malden's leading scorer, Cortez Dobbins, to 17 points. Dobbins had just six entering the fourth quarter when the Bluejays were ahead 57-34.

"We did a great job defensively," Charleston head coach Danny Farmer said. "We did a good job on Dobbins and we wanted to contain him. We played hard, had some energy and that's what we need during the postseason."

Delfincko Bogan led the top-seeded Bluejays with 19 points all in the first three quarters. Bogan also had seven assists and three steals.

Charleston will take on second-seeded Caruthersville on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. for the district championship. The Bluejays have made an appearance in 14 of their last 15 district championship games winning 11 of them.
