Season comes to an end for Bearcats 66-44

CAPE GIRARDEAU (SMNS) -- The Kennett Indians used a strong defensive performance to snap a three-game losing streak and defeat the Dexter Bearcats 66-44 on Saturday in the first round of the MSHSAA Class 4, District 1 Tournament at Central High School.

Andre Oliver scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Tribe (15-10), while Rantrell Caruthers added 16 points and Antavies Drake chipped in 11.

Kennett is slated to face top-seeded Sikeston in the semifinals on Tuesday night, weather permitting.
