The Sikeston Rescue Squad responded to an emergency call at 2:50 p.m. Monday of a farm worker trapped in a grain bin with an auger on Highway O in Scott County northwest of Miner. Vacuum trucks owned by the city of Sikeston and the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities were brought in evacuate the grain, according to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety reports. After about three hours, emergency personnel were able to remove Ulices Becerra, 40, of rural Sikeston, from the grain bin. DPS officials indicated it appeared the man had a cut on the foot or the leg. The man was taken by air ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
