An elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor who was able to fit for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100 percent. The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again." The gentleman replied, "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!"
Our words can hurt people sometimes and you never know who may be listening to you. There will always be others who will twist your words to make you look bad. I think we should give others the benefit of the doubt when someone tells you that they said something controversial. Too many times today, someone will get mad at you and tell everyone but you. God's word tells us to go to that person and try to work it out. I'm aware that some folks don't follow God's word, but I've also noticed that a lot of them are miserable and burdened with bad relationships and family turmoil. I believe that The Bible has many answers to the questions we face every day. All we have to do is read it and apply it to our life. That doesn't mean that you won't still have problems, but it will give you some good answers to some big problems. When it comes to others who listen we should always remember that God is always listening.
