BENTON -- Sunny skies mean a brighter financial future for county revenue, according to Scott County commissioners.
Dennis Ziegenhorn, county commissioner, said during Tuesday's County Commission meeting that the sees a connection between the amount of sales tax received by the county and the weather.
"The sunshine makes the people come out," Ziegenhorn said.
The county is down about $5,997 on each half-cent sales tax as compared with last year, according to commissioners, but made up most of the difference in the most recent month's receipts.
