BENTON -- A SUBWAY® restaurant, which is known for its fresh baked bread and offering a healthier alternative to traditionally fatty fast food, has opened in Benton on Dec. 11. The new restaurant is located at 6488 State Highway 77, near Boomland and features a drive-thru with a touch screen order kiosk and seating for 40 guests in the dining room.
SUBWAY® restaurants are famous for their made-to-order 6-inch or footlong submarine sandwiches. They are served on a variety of gourmet breads that are baked fresh in each restaurant throughout the day. Customers create their own hot or cold sandwiches by choosing from a variety of meats, fresh vegetables, cheeses and condiments, while viewing the sandwich being assembled right in front of them.
In addition to submarine sandwiches, the new SUBWAY® restaurant at Benton will also offer a variety of salads and flatbread pizzas.
"I am excited to be able to bring Subway's delicious, nutritious product to the people of Benton," said Kathy Agin, owner of the new sandwich shop. "I look forward to meeting the residents and invite everyone to stop by and try our world-famous submarine sandwiches."
Kathy Agin is a local resident moving to the area 12 years ago. "We really enjoy living in Benton. Our investment in the local community has received a great reception from the Benton residents."
SUBWAY® President Fred DeLuca was a 17-year-old student when he co-founded the SUBWAY® chain in 1965. With a $1,000 loan from family friend Dr. Peter Buck, he started the venture as a way to finance his college education. Today, there are more than 41,592 SUBWAY® restaurants in 104 countries around the world.
