JEFFERSON CITY -- Both the Charleston Bluejays and Kelly Hawks had big showings Saturday at the Class 2 state championship track meet held on the campus of Lincoln University in Jefferson City. None of those performances was bigger than that of Charleston's 4x200-meter relay team that took home the state championship with a time of 1:31.54. JEFFERSON CITY -- Both the Charleston Bluejays and Kelly Hawks had big showings Saturday at the Class 2 state championship track meet held on the campus of Lincoln University in Jefferson City.

None of those performances was bigger than that of Charleston's 4x200-meter relay team that took home the state championship with a time of 1:31.54. The relay team is made up of Tyler Craig, Dyrel Pierce, Robert Bogan and Devonte' Ware.

Ware also finished second in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. The senior ran the 100 in 11.17 seconds and the 200 in 22.70 seconds.

Pierce placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 42 feet, 6 and a half inches as the Bluejays finished fifth overall as a team.

Kelly's Trey Walker came away with two medals, finishing fourth in the 1,600-meter run and third in the 800-meter run. Walker ran the 1,600 in 4:29.53 and the 800 in 41.94.

Teammate Gavin Ray placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.94 and teamed with Matt Burford, Maurice Davis and Dalton Huffman to finish seventh in the 400-meter relay with a time of 45.53.

As a team Kelly finished the state meet in 12th.

The Kelly girls also performed well as Dakaria Johnson took home a second place medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.78. The junior finished seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.80 and teamed with Samantha Ratledge, Taylor Lasater and McKynlee Neumeyer to finish third in the 400-meter relay with a time of 50.89.

Ratledge also placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 7 inches as the Kelly girls finished 12th overall.

Class 1

In Class 1, Oran's Addie Kielhofner finished third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.04. The senior teamed with Aubrianna Jones, Ashlyn McIntosh and Kaylen Glastetter to place seventh in the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:54.19.

Scott County Central's Cameron Blissett also earned all-state honors in the boy's high jump with by jumping 5 feet, 10 inches, good enough for eighth place.
