CHARLESTON -- Rob Barker will be the next associate circuit judge in Mississippi County while the race is set for the next public administrator.

The two-way race to be the next associate circuit judge was decided during the Tuesday primary election as the only two candidates filed were both Democrats.

Barker brought in 1,597 votes to defeat Jeremy J. Butler, who received 631.

The incumbent, Judge T. Lynn Brown, did not seek another term.

Julie Summers-Day, the sole running Republican for the two-year unexpired term in the Public Administrator Office, received 369 votes.

In November, she will face off against Democrat Sally Carlisle, who defeated Steve Hodges 1,155 to 908 to secure that party's nomination.

In the 148th District of the Missouri house, incumbent Holly Rehder, with 295 votes, was preferred in Mississippi County over Duston Y. Stone, who got 76, in the Republican primary.
