CAPE GIRARDEAU -- After opening up the final day of play in the Notre Dame Softballfest with a win over Perryville, the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs fell 7-3 to Naylor later Saturday afternoon to finish with sixth-place in the tournament.
A three-run rally in the third inning against the Lady Eagles put the Lady Bulldogs in charge, but Naylor responded with a combined six runs in the final two innings.
A 3-run outburst in the six frame regained Naylor the lead, 4-3, before another three runs in the seventh gave the Lady Eagles plenty of insurance.
Natalie Regenold and Madison Smith led the way with two hits each while Smith also drew a walk to reach in all three plate appearances.
Kylie Noe and Maggie Shepherd each doubled and the rest of the lineup contributed a hit each.
Even with the loss, the Lady Bulldogs' sixth-place finish is the best in the program's history at the tournament.
Earlier in the day Sikeston stayed alive in the tournament with a 15-3 rout of Perryville in the fifth-place bracket semifinals.
The two squads were locked in a tie game before the Lady Bulldogs blew the contest open with a 12-run sixth inning that brought about a mercy-rule win.
Shepherd finished with three hits in the contest, including a double, to give her four hits and two doubles on the day.
Noe and Ashton Drake added two hits each with Drake legging out a double.
Their split on Saturday leaves the Lady Bulldogs at 5-4 on the season. They'll host Cape Central Tuesday at 4 p.m.

__Perryville 3, Sikeston 0__
CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Sikeston Bulldogs soccer team finished off their run at the Notre Dame Soccerfest with a 3-0 loss to Perryville in the consolation championship.
This comes after the Bulldogs stayed alive in the tournament with a 3-2 win over Cape Central on Friday in the consolation semifinals.
Sikeston stands at 3-3 on the season and will get the chance for revenge with the Pirates today when they go on the road with junior varsity action starting at 5 p.m.

__Kelly 1, Portageville 0__
CAPE GIRARDEAU -- After upsetting host Notre Dame in the championship bracket semifinals Saturday, the Portageville Lady Bulldogs fell to Kelly 1-0 in extra innings to take second and give the Lady Hawks the title.
Portageville's Taylor Tiffany and Kelly's Alexis Dock were locked in a scoreless contest until the eighth. That's when the game went to international time limit rules and Kelly put a runner, Kristi Brucker, on second to start their half of the inning.
Brucker was bunted to third before Shanda Reed bunted her home to give the Lady Hawks the win.
Outhitting Kelly 5-1, Portageville was led by Kelsi Miller's 2-hit effort. Mikayla Rone added a hit to Portageville's cause and Kelly's lone hit came from Brucker.
In earning the win, Dock pitched eight shutout innings where she struck out five.
Taylor took the loss in a complete game effort in which she surrendered just one hit and fanned 12.
A flawless tournament run leaves the Lady Hawks at an undefeated 7-0 on the season and they'll host Cape Central today at 4 p.m.
Now at 3-2, Portageville will host Twin Rivers today at 4:30 p.m.
