It was the first year the Portageville Lady Dawgs got past Sixth Place. They had a great game from Portageville's Taylor Tiffany, but was not enough in the 1-0 loss to KELLY. The Dawgs played Kelly Saturday night in the championship bracket of the Notre Dame Tournament.

"Our girls played great throughout the whole tournament. After coming from a loss against Notre Dame the previous Tuesday, these last few days have been very refreshing," said head coach Ashlie Patton. "As coaches, we knew they had the talent to make it to the finals of this tournament, they had to believe it too. They did!"
"They showed up and took control. We knew any of the games we play in this tournament is always a major hurdle, because every team is so competitive. This is the first year we have made it past 6th place in this tournament, and the girls deserved every minute."
"With the dedication and determination these girls showed, makes 2nd place easier to take, knowing they gave their all. There are always "what if's", but we have always told them "If you walk away from a game (winning or losing) and not wanting it back, then you have given your 110% to the game." They did exactly that with all 4 games," added Patton.
