"O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. Psalm 139:1-4
One of the things that I like to watch on television is mystery and crime shows. I like to see the science and lab work that is done to catch folks who think that they have gotten away with some crime. Many think that they have done something that no one sees, yet that is not the case.
Have you ever done something and thought that you have gotten away with? Maybe when you were a child you did something that you thought your parents had no clue about. Many times when we have done something we thought we got by our parents, they knew. They may not have said anything but they knew.
There may have been a few times that we did get by with something that our parents did not know. In fact maybe nobody knew.......at least that is what we thought. Well everything that we have ever done, and everything that we will ever do.......God knows. God sees. There is nothing that is hidden from God.
Psalm 139 is a wonderful Psalm that talks about the actions of God in knowing who we are. It tells of God's care for our lives. This Psalm talks about God making us and creating us. This week I just want to take a moment and look at the fact of God knowing us.
There is no one that knows us like God knows us. God has searched us and knows us. There is never a thought or a word that we have said that God does not know. Even just the thoughts that we have, and never said the word that we were thinking, God still knows.
We might think that we know our spouse, children, parents and friends. We may know many of their habits, and actions, yet we do not know everything about them like God does. God knows us even better than we know ourselves!
God knows everything! He knows our likes and our dislikes. He knows our fears, and those things that make us mad, those that make us happy, those that make us cry, and those that make us smile. There is nothing that is hidden from God.
If we ever get angry at God we need to just go ahead and voice that to Him. He already knows it so why should we lie to Him? Get it out and tell God, "I am so angry at you," He can handle it and God knows if we are angry at him already so just be truthful. If we are happy and feeling blessed then we need to voice that to him as well.
Next time we think that we have done something that nobody else knows about, remember God knows all and sees all. God knows you.
God bless
