JACKSON -- Maggie Shepherd hit a triple and Myca Martin added two more hits but Sikeston fell to Jackson 11-1 on the road Monday.
Sikeston (9-9) took a 1-0 lead after one inning but Jackson, who finished with 16 hits, blew the game open with five runs in the second and three more in the third.
Kelsie Meystedt earned the win in the circle for Jackson. She also finished 3 for 3 at the plate. Mallorie Maintz went 4 for 4 with a double and Kayla Keith smacked a home run.
Sikeston will take on Neelyville today at 4 p.m.

SIKESTON -- The Sikeston tennis team picked up a 9-0 win over Charleston Monday.
Ali Price and Emily Braden each won their singles match 8-0. Braden, along with partner Brianna Basham, also won their doubles match by an 8-0 score.
Sikeston will travel to Fredericktown today.

SIKESTON -- The Sikeston junior varsity football team lost 34-12 to Farmington Monday at Sikeston Public Schools stadium.
Farmington scored four-straight touchdowns to take a 26-0 lead at halftime. Scottie Herrion broke up the shutout with a 35-yard touchdown reception from Austin Branch with 5:20 left in the third quarter.
After another score by Farmington, Sikeston's Jason Moore ran for a 70-yard score to make up the final.
