SIKESTON -- A musical comedy set in the 1950s will kick off the 56th season of the Sikeston Little Theater

Performances of "Bye Bye Birdie" begin Thursday at the Theater.

"This one is our big musical of the year," said Sikeston Little Theater Board member Teresa Braden. "We normally do our big musical in February or March, but we rearranged that this season."

Although she doesn't have specifics about this season's productions, Braden said there will be at least four shows, including a children's production. Also, the a cappella group, Blend, from Illinois will perform at the Theater in December.
