BENTON -- A Scott City man is facing an array of charges following a high speed chase that reached speeds of 105 miles per hour.
Matthew Angel Lowe, 38, is charged with the felonies of driving while revoked/suspended, resisting arrest by fleeing and creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to any person and misdemeanor charges of operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway when the roadway was of sufficient width, exceeding the posted speed limit by 25 miles an hour or more, and failure to stop for a stop sign.
At approximately 1:34 a.m. Thursday, Scott County Deputy John Caudle was operating radar on State Highway M at Wheeler Drive in Scott City, when he observed a westbound vehicle traveling at 73 miles per hour. The posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour, according to a news release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.
