SIKESTON - Two persons were injured in two separate, but possibly related shootings Saturday night.
At about 10:35 p.m. Saturday, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a report of shots fired at 409 Clayton Street. According to Capt. James McMillian, DPS public information officer, the victim stated he was getting out of his car when he heard gun shots.
The victim, who was shot once in the back and once in the leg, was able to flee the scene, running a block to a friend's house, McMillian said. An ambulance was called, taking the man to Missouri Delta Medical Center and later he was transferred to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.
"His injuries were serious but he is expected to recover," McMillian said.
