BENTON -- A Sikeston man was arrested after he failed to follow a Scott County Sheriff deputy's advice.

Matthew Wayne Carmack, 23, is charged with the felony of second degree domestic assault following an incident which began at 4 a.m. Monday, when Sgt. Charles Pratt was called to a Scott County residence in reference to a domestic disturbance between Carmack and a female. Pratt advised the two to separate for 12 hours, and warned if any further domestic incidents occurred an arrest would be made, according to a news release from the office of Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. Monday, Deputy Danny Finley was called back to the residence for a second disturbance.

"After speaking with both parties, the deputy determined that Carmack was the primary aggressor, and an assault had occurred," Walter reported.
