SIKESTON -- Missouri Delta Medical Center is celebrating another great report card.

"Missouri Delta has earned Top Performer on Key Quality Measures from the Joint Commission," said Sharon Urhahn, director of marketing for MDMC.

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization which accredits and certifies more than 20,500 health care organizations and programs in the U.S.

As part of MDMC's ongoing commitment to improving the quality and safety of care provided to its patients, the hospital has worked hard to meet the Top Performer benchmarks since the Joint Commission began the Top Performer award in 2010, according to Julie Fraser-Young, MDMC's vice president of quality.

MDMC has previously met the benchmark in one or more areas, she said, "but had not until 2013 been able to meet all three criteria for being a top performer," Fraser-Young said. "Missouri Delta Medical Center is thrilled to be a Top Performer for 2013."
